Ethos

Timmins Academy of Dance offers a unique training experience for students from age three to young adults. Focusing on the versatile syllabus designed by the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA), we specialise in Classical Ballet, Modern Dance, Lyrical & Theatre Craft, Musical Theatre, Gymnastics and Street Dance.

We encourage students to strive to be the best dancers they can be, whether they attend as a means to keep fit, to meet other like minded children or to further their dance training in the future. We welcome new students into our school where classes are vibrant, positive and rewarding for each and every student and we are proud to be inspiring a new generation of young performers.

There is something for everyone who walks through or doors here at Timmins and we welcome you to join us now.

Our Approach

We offer in depth approach and excellence in our teaching and work closely with the student and parents to ensure a student’s expectations are met. Not all students want to further dance as a career and this is a place that offers avenues for all. For those children who would like to further their careers we work with you to find the best schools, colleges, universities, diplomas, BTECS, under grad & degree courses. From Sep 2022 we also be offering a full comprehensive Teacher Training courses in dance for students wishing to teach dance or aid their applications with further qualifications in addition to Academic Teaching programs.

Examinations in all of these subjects are available from grades – majors giving children a sense of achievement as they progress through the school and a sense of focus outside of their daily academic lives.  Since 2017 the IDTA examination board give UCAS points for higher grades and vocational examinations.
